CREATE EMPTY BUDGET JOURNAL

 

DESCRIPTION:  Use this program to set up annual budgets and use General Ledger Post with the source of entry BGT to enter budget information.  (NOTE:  There is also an option called BUDGET CALC that you can use to set up budgets.  This program requires you to set up all the account information.)

 

NOTE:  EVERYONE MUST BE OUT OF THE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU PERFORM THIS UTILITY!

To access the Change Journal Effective Date, click on the GENERAL LEDGER button on the Main Screen , then click the CREATE EMPTY BUDGET JOURNAL button.

 

The following screen will appear:

 

1. Select the items you would like to appear on your budget by clicking the appropriate boxes.  (Most of the time Revenue and Expenses).

2. Select the funds you want to use in the budget journal. Only account numbers in the selected funds will be created in the budget journal.

3. BUDGET EFFECTIVE DATE: 

Select the Budget Effective Date.   This is the beginning of the fiscal year (not the calendar year).  You can enter the date or click on the blue calendar button.

4. Click DONE.

5. When the budget journal has been created, you will receive the following confirmation screen.  Click OK to continue.

  WRITE DOWN THIS JOURNAL NUMBER!
