CHANGE EQUIPMENT CODE

DESCRIPTION:  This utility is helpful in moving retired equipment to a new "retired designated" number, and then reusing a particular equipment number. (Or updating a number set up in error.)  This is particularly helpful when you have certain groups of numbers designated to certain departments or districts.  Example:  Equipment #196 that you bought in 1988 is retired and now you have a new piece of equipment that you would like to be called Equipment #196; however you don't want all the old transactions in there.

NOTE:  EVERYONE MUST BE OUT OF THE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU PERFORM THIS UTILITY!

1. Enter the OLD Equipment (Number) Code by using the pull-down menu to find the Equipment Code..

NOTE:  If you want to use the same Equipment code for a new piece of equipment, take the old number and place an "R" in front of it.  So if the old equipment number was 196, you can make it R196.  This way you will be able to use 196 again and all the old transactions will be attached to R196, not 196.
