SQUEEZE JOURNAL NUMBERS
DESCRIPTION: This utility is typically used when you've inadvertently used a very high journal number, (one that is out of sequence with all the others). This utility will squeeze all the journal numbers and get them in line again.
NOTE: EVERYONE MUST BE OUT OF THE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU PERFORM THIS UTILITY!
DUE TO THE EXTENT OF DATA CHANGES THAT CAN OCCUR IN THIS UTILITY, YOU MAY WANT TO BACK UP YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE USING THIS UTILITY!

To access Squeeze Journal Numbers, click on the GENERAL LEDGER button , then click on the SQUEEZE JOURNAL NUMBERS button.
1. SOURCE OF ENTRY: .png){kind=small}
Select the Source of Entry you would like to squeeze the journals for. (Use the pull-down menu to find different Sources of Entry if the one you want isn't listed.)
2. HIGHEST JOURNAL NUMBER TO RETAIN: .png)
Enter the highest number you want to keep for journal numbers.
Example: If you have journal numbers 305, 306, 307 & 3008, pick 307 as your highest number. This will squeeze the 3008 number down to 308.
(If you don't know what journal number to enter, click on the yellow envelope button .png){kind=small}
to see a list of your journals. This should show you the journal that is out of sequence.)
3. Once you've entered the correct information, you will see the following warning:

Click YES to continue; NO to cancel.
4. Once the squeeze is completed, you will receive the following confirmation. Click OK to continue.

6. Click OK to exit the program.
