CREATING GROUPS

 

DESCRIPTION:  Pro Fund Accounting allows you to setup different groups of permissions so you don't need to add the same set of permissions for 5 or 6 different users. You can setup a group and then assign those 5 or 6 users to the group, then all of the permissions which are included in the group are applied to each user.

We have setup predefined groups to help you get started, in the Groups tab of the main security window:

 

To create a new group, click on the New Group button and the following screen will appear:

 

 

1. GROUP NAME

This name describes what the group is intended for.  For example, if you want to setup a group for payroll clerks, you would Select a name such as PAYROLL CLERKS for the group name.

 

2. CREATE GROUP:  

Click on the Create Group button to create the group. This new group will automatically be added to the Groups Tab under Security.

 

Once the group is created, you would need to edit that group in order to setup the permissions for it.  See MODIFYING GROUPS for further instructions on editing your group.
